He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Gilfus and Barbara Gilfus (Schaefer); his daughter Patty Douglas (Verna Bauer); and his stepson Brent Bauer. He is survived by: his daughter Peggy Johnson (Levi); his grandchildren, Cheyenne Jundt (Ryan), Leah McGahey (Nick) and Tanner Douglas (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Keaton, Karden Jundt, Marlei, Bentlei and Preslei McGahey; his stepson Robert Bauer (Gail); his stepgrandchildren, Sean Bauer and Stefanie Mortwick (Nick); and his friend Eveline Heitmann.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Catherine's Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
