He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schlafmann and Helen Schlafmann (Westerlind); his sister Caryl Hieb; and his brother-in-law Ron Hieb. He is survived by: his grandson Blair; his children, Stephanie "Tess" Zinke (Steve), Nicholas Schlafmann, Susanne Vetsch (Frank), Stacey Bushey (Jerry) and Jay Schlafmann (Sheila); his grandchildren, Brook Schlafmann (Melanie), Leslie Koedam (Andy), Grant Zinke (Emily), Mark Zinke (Stephanie), Carter, Hannah, Addison Bushey, Vivian and Helen Schlafmann; and his siblings, Lorie Schlafmann and Wayne Schlafmann (Susan). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, his nieces and nephews.
