He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Johnson and Hilda Johnson; his wife Shirley Norman; his siblings, Maurice (Wilma) and Marlys Simenson (Ernest); his siblings-in-law, Deloris Peterson, Boyd Fiske and Don Linke; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Hintermeyer (Scot), Linda Gylland (Robert), Gregg Johnson, J. Scott Johnson (Carrie) and Wendy Malgouyres (Andre); his sisters, HazelAnn Linke and Elaine Fiske; his sister-in-law Bonnie Norman; his grandchildren, Laura Ajibero (Emmanuel), Sarah Merriman (Jeff), Amy Lynn (Matt), Tyler Gylland (Kayla), Hanna Zimmerman (Jared), Jon Johnson (Carissa), Connor Johnson (Crystal), Olivia Schmitt (Ethan) and Lucy-Mei Malgouyres; and his great grandchildren, Bryce, Chloe Gylland, Arabelle, Ivy Johnson, Yanmife, Mofe, Oreofe, Ife Ajibero, Norah, Logan Lynn, Oliver, Lincoln, Miles Johnson and Steele Schmitt.
He was hospitalized with COVID in 2020 and fractured his femur in 2023.
