He is survived by: his significant other Betty Steinke; his daughter Lindsey Hertel (David); his stepchildren, Dana and Shannon; his grandchildren, Addison Hertel, Sophia Hertel, Jonathan Steinke (Niesha), Ashley Steinke, Wyatt Ottem (Nixon) and DesaRae Ottem; and his sisters, Judynne Bjornson, Carol Salwei and Linda Thomasson. He is also survived by great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
