He was predeceased by: his parents, August Gappert and Alma Gappert (Kramer); his wife Eleanore; and his son-in-law Kevin Berger. He is survived by: his sister Jean Schultz; his children, Nadine Berger (Ron), Dale Gappert, Bruce Gappert (Annette), Nanette Gappert (Brian) and Norine Sutter (Andy); his grandchildren, Nikki Sackman (Justin), Candace Wieger (Brandon), Dillon Gappert, KaeLa Gunsch (Mike), Michael Gappert (Destinee), Drew Sutter (Selena) and Zach Sutter (Sarah); and his great grandchildren, Seth, Locke, Charlee, Sally, James, Lonnie, Gunner, John, Ellouise and Carter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sannes Family Funeral Home, Inc. - Washburn (522 Main Ave, Washburn, ND 58577). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sannes Family Funeral Home Chapel (522 Main Ave, Washburn, ND 58577). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:15 PM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
