He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Harthun (Ellingson) and Andrew Harthun (Dent); his siblings, Carol Hexum, Elaine Kawlewski, Harold, Raymond, Leroy and Glen; and his siblings-in-law, Errol Hexum, Roger Kawlewski, Patricia'Patty' (Raymond) and Karol (Jane Harthun).

He is survived by: his wife Jane Harthun (Korczak); his siblings, Linda Aune (Kenneth 'Kenny') and Marlin'Bugs' Harthun (Robin Jones); his sister-in-law Angie (Leroy); his children, Julie Ries (Bill Smith), John, Lynn Bendickson (Brian) and Valerie (Cory Hass); and his grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna (John) and Sage (Lynn). He is also survived by his three great-grandchildren.
