He was predeceased by: his father Edward Schmidt; his stepfather Sam Hegney; and his grandparents, Joe, Julia Volk, Frank and Magdalen Schmidt.
He is survived by: his daughter Justine Kiser (Cameron); his mother Lucille Hegney (Dan); his brothers, Allen Schmidt (Amy), Shawn Schmidt (Heather) and Elroy Schmidt (Stephanie); his nieces and nephews, Molly Schmidt (Devin), Ryan Schmidt, Brooke Schmidt and Jada Schmidt; and also Charmaine English. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
