He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Maletira Machayya and Bollamma Ganapathy Machayya; his wife Margaret "Maggie" Burns; his brother Devaiah Ganapathy; his brother-in-law Antony Burns; Edward and Frances Burns.
He is survived by: his son Mark (Katie); his grandchildren, Makayla, Dakota and Memphis of Bemidji, MN; his son Kevin (Jamie); his grandchildren, Josie, Gaby, Jon (Jill), Ellie, Lincoln and Vera; and his sister-in-law June Burns.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Sanford Health Foundation or CHI Mercy Health Foundation Valley City.
