With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Waslien (West Fargo, North Dakota), who passed away on July 22, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Richard may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Milt Waslien and Phyllis Waslien (Schafer); and his granddaughter Kaitlyn Northuis. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his daughter Mikki Northuis (Scott); his granddaughter Abigail Northuis; and his siblings, Susie Rosenthal (Larry) and Robert Waslien (Joan). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center (321 Sheyenne St, West Fargo, ND 58078). A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests no flowers or gifts.
