She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Mahlen and Olive "Anderson" Mahlen; her husband Harlan "Bob" Helwig; and her brother Jerry Mahlen. She is survived by : her children, Rob Helwig (Danielle) of Troup, Texas and Dawn Helwig (Pete Kirchhevel) of Aberdeen; her grandchildren, Danielle Janssen, Taylor Schultz, Tevin Helwig and Avery Helwig; her great grandchildren, Jaelynn, Mason and Sutton; and her siblings, Jean Nygaard of Flint, Marilyn Stevens of Edina and Lee Mahlen of Sioux Falls.
