He is survived by: his siblings, Marianne Burke (Dennis) of Missouri, Darlene Materi of Wishek and Thomas Materi (Debora) of Bismarck; his nieces and nephews, Gary Schafer (Angel) of Ohio, Kevin Schafer of Steele, Jonathan Materi of Fargo, Missy Olheiser of New Salem, Brittany Thorson (Jamie) of Bismarck and Bethany Konu (Elias) of Bismarck; his great-niece Isabelle "Ellie" Schafer of Ohio; his great-nephew Easton Thomas Thorson of Bismarck; and his brother-in-law Gary Schafer Sr. of Bismarck.
