He was predeceased by: his sons-in-law, Randy Pierce and Richard "Butch" Jobman; his grandsons, James Pierce and Vance Weber; his great grandchildren, Braxton Buhr and Bexley Comstock; his parents, Krene Buss and Fanny Buss; his siblings, Henry Buss (Clara), John Buss, Alfred Buss, Grace Harms (Tom) and Elizabeth Rademacher (Lubbe); his parents-in-law, Alva and Ellen Schoene; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Schoene (Barbara) and George Kemmett.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Buss of Adams; his children, Cheryle Pierce, Donna Jobman, Steven Buss (Dawn), Jerald Buss (Kristi), Annette Kolter (Jeff), Melanie Johnson (Mitchell) and Laura Weber (Rick); his grandchildren, Sara MacLean (Richie Butler), Becky Buhr (Cody), Nicole Comstock (Justin), Chelsea Kolter (Kevin Butler), Conner Kolter (Dominic DiCicco), Cassidy Kolter (Tyler Reeves), Destiny Buss, Summer Buss, Taylor West (Charles), Quinten Johnson, Sidney Johnson (Hayden Parker), Max Johnson (Sarah), Garrett Weber (Tess), Emily Weber (Kevin Hughes) and Jessica Ingram (Ashley Peters); his great grandchildren, Jack MacLean, Eddie Pierce, Grayson, Laken Buhr, Casey Comstock, Camden, Cooper Hughes, Beau Weber, Avery Weber, Calvin, Ripley Weber, Walter Johnson, Anders West and Lillian Hobbs; his brother Alvin Buss (Barbara); and his sisters-in-law, Marlene Bell and Evelyn Kemmett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, August 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams (623 9th St, Adams, NE 68301). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A prayer will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the American Lutheran Church (601 Ash St, Adams, NE 68301). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the American Lutheran Church in Adams and Adams Rescue.
