He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Borer and Mary Ann Borer (Seier); and his siblings, Floyd, Dean and Elaine Borer.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Dush; his sons, Doug (Lori) and Chris (Brooke); his stepdaughter Melissa Crago; his siblings, Tom Borer (Diana), Nancy Parks (Kenny), Alice Mescher (Jim), Shirley Chramosta (Jerry), Ann Knust (Floyd) and Keith Borer (Nora); his great grandchildren, Chelsey McConnell (Matt), Lauren Knudsen (Jay), Reese, Rya, Ty, Parker and Sienna; his stepgrandchildren, Ben and Madison Reilly; his great grandchild Ash; Peg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St Michael's Catholic Church (524 W Church St, Albion, NE 68620). A wake was held on Sunday, May 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Monday, May 11th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
