It is with sadness that the passing of William R. Spiegel of Albion, Nebraska is shared. William, born on August 6, 1926, passed away on July 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spiegel and Edna Spiegel (Kemper); his wives, Lois Geddes Spiegel and Gloria Murphy Spiegel; his children, Karen Scheffler and Anthony Stuart; his son-in-law Guy Scheffler; and his close friend Phyllis Michel.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia, Billy Jo Spiegel (Stella) of Central City, Jim Spiegel (Kathy) of Kearney, Gay Drozd (Jerome) of Genoa, Terry Thompson (Steve) of St. Edward and Patti Saltzman (Brian) of Lushton; his stepdaughter Fran Lange of Minden; his brothers, Dick Spiegel of Albion and Kenny Spiegel of Hughson, CA; and his sister-in-law Kathy Spiegel of Loup City. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 35 great great grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 24 step great grandchildren; 3 step great great grandchildren; and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Bill's honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
