We bid farewell to James B. Mashek (Alliance, Nebraska), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 31, 2025 at the age of 71. James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Mashek and Margaret Mashek (Hoffman); his siblings, Patrick, Mike, Jack, Vickie and Holly; his mother-in-law Dorothy Newby; his siblings-in-law, Delanie Mordhorst, Donna Newby, Esther Newby and Rick Newby; and his nephew Eugene Newby.
He is survived by: his wife Rena; his children, Angela (Ted) of Gordon, NE, Erik of Alliance, NE and Summer of Alliance, NE.; his grandchildren, Nick, Zekyel and Neva; his siblings, Trudie Boedeker (Jerry), Debbie Ernest (Bill), Rick Mashek (Tammy), Joe Mashek (Denise) and Chris Mashek (Debbie); his in-laws, Diane Furr (Ron), Ronnie Newby, Kenny Newby (Ruth), Dick Thomas and George Martin; his great-nephews, Victor, Nick Gallegos and Bobbie Arraj; and his great-niece Valesha Gallegos. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces.
