With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen G. Cody (Alliance, Nebraska), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 7, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Karen G. Cody to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Colerick and Irene Colerick (Kaiser); her husband Gerald "Punk" Cody; her brother Gerald "Jerry"; her sister-in-law Louise Colerick; her parents-in-law, Ed and Mary Cody; and her brother-in-law James Butcher.
She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Cody Garcia (Michael) of Columbus, NE; her grandchildren, Morgan Slusarski and Nathan Slusarski of Lincoln, NE; her stepgrandchildren, Paige Garcia and Parker Garcia of Paton, IA; her sister-in-law Teresa Butcher; and her sibling's children, Steve Colerick, Jeff Colerick, Pat Colerick, Jim Butcher, Rita Arnoldy and Mary Butcher.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home (1020 W 10th St, Alliance, NE 69301). A wake was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (916 Cheyenne Ave, Alliance, NE 69301). A rosary was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be given to the family for a later designation or given to a charity of the donor's choice.
