He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen L. Tams and Wilma I. Tams (Schmalken); his son Marte Scott; his wife Kathleen Linner; and his siblings-in-law, Kaye Linner, Kim Linner, Gary Carter, Lynn Rakes and Roger Linner.

He is survived by: his children, George Scott (DeeAnn) of Oxford, Nebraska, Monte Scott (Michael Gentile) of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Yvonne Tolle (Clinton) of Alma and Lewis Tams (Sara) of Rossville, Kansas; his grandchildren, Jamie Scott of Omaha, Nebraska, Aaron Scott (Amanda) of Hastings, Nebraska, Annabelle Tolle of Paso Robles, California, Natalie Tolle of Portland, Oregon, Emma Tams and Conner Tams of Rossville; his sister Connie Carter of Palmyra, Nebraska; his cousins, Rolena Novak (Lou) of Oxford and Vicki Gammage of Stamford; and his in-laws, Ron Linner (Mary) of Bird City, Kansas, Shirley Volgamore (Ervin) of Beaver City, Margie Denio (Earl) of Stratton, Nebraska, Denise Rakes of Cambridge, Nebraska, Doug Linner (Missy) of Hendley, Bev Hilker (Butch) of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Jim Linner (Heidi) of Norton, Kansas, Alvin Linner of Beaver City, Junior Linner (Don) of Beaver City and Randy Linner (Cindy) of Norton, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, along with other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church - Alma (310 US-183 Hwy, Alma, NE 68920).
