He is survived by: his girlfriend Sharon Johnson; his children, Roger Gruwell (Lynette), Jerry Gruwell (Crystal), Debra Gross (Sam) and Denise Ambrosier (Rick); his grandchildren, Sophie Hadwiger (Ty), Sidney Gruwell (Tiana), Samuel Gruwell, Chasidy Lambert (Nick), Lane Gruwell (Sydney), Nick Johnson (Jess), Kyle Johnson, Tessa Johnson, David Gross, Daphne Gross, Morgan Nutter (Nathan) and Bret Ambrosier (Cecily); his great grandchildren, Jack Hadwiger, Keenan Lambert, Celina Lambert, Emerynn Johnson, Jace Johnson, Averie Gross, Maverick Gross, Ava Nutter and Owen Nutter; and his sisters, Beulah Schriner (Maurice) and Mary Blubaugh (Tom). He is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home - Alma (404 John St, Alma, NE 68920). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Wesleyan Methodist Church (201 Broadway St, Naponee, NE 68960).
Memorial donations may be made to the family for future designation.
