It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Schmitz of Anselmo, Nebraska, who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Gary Schmitz to show support.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bus and Mary; and his grandparents, John, Ada, Charles and Anna Mohatt.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Todd Schmitz, Trevor Schmitz and Tracey Gau; his stepchildren, David Ward (Kay) and Diane Ward (Mike Nowicki); and his sister Carolyn Mayne of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Anselm's Catholic Church (201 W Rolla Ave, Anselmo, NE 68813). A rosary will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
