He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Laaker and Marian Laaker (Nelson); his brother Richard Laaker; and his siblings-in-law, John, Karen Burgeson and Joy Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Vaughn; his children, Brian Laaker (Cindy) of Arlington, Amy Cheek (Aron) of Valley, Kay Fitzke (Brian) of Fremont and Jill Bailey (Matt) of Schuyler; his grandchildren, Mikayla Williams (Charley), Mallory Ruwe, Katelyn Smith (Brandon), Reed Fitzke (Kaelei), Leah Baker (Devyn), Eliza, Hayden and Lindley Bailey; his great grandchild Lydia Baker; his sisters, Ann Babcock (Robert) and Mary Tenhoff (Herman); and his siblings-in-law, Lynn Laaker, Stan Vaughn (Connie) and Larry Bennett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School of Arlington, The Washington, NE County Fair or American Legion Post 71 in Arlington.
