He was predeceased by: his parents, Alverna Adele Horst (Tonges) and Leonard Horst; his parents-in-law, Grayston and Marjorie Cool; his brother Loren Horst; and his nephew Scott Cool.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Kay Cool of Arnold; his children, Robert of Holdrege and Elizabeth Goetzinger (Phillip) of Portland, Oregon; his grandchildren, Brandon Horst (Kayla), Christina Prather (Anthony) and Ceara Adams; his brothers, John Horst (June) of Wisner and Harlan Horst (Jeannie) of Alta Vista; his sister-in-law Rose Horst of Egg Harbor; and his in-laws, Allan, LaDonna McClure, Ron, Nancy Cool, Jerry and Judy Cool. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church (403 N Walnut St, Arnold, NE 69120).
