He was predeceased by: his parents, Erle D. Corfield and Mildred Belle Corfield (Hiner); his wife Norma Thomas; his grandchild JD Corfield; and his daughter-in-law MaryLou Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Thomas Sr. (Vicki Bolton) of Arthur, Jo Shalla (Mike) of Ogallala, Lisa Allard (George) of Ogallala and Jeremy Corfield (Rebecca) of Arthur; his close friend Deb Musser of Mullen; his grandchildren, Jeffery Jr. Thomas (Brooke), Justin Thomas (Rhea), Becca Williams (Justin), Jessie Dowdy (Mikel), Dillon McKeag, Elias McKeag, Lucia McKeag, Tallulah McKeag, Rave Corfield and Jaci Corfield; his great grandchildren, Sawyer Dowdy, BrayLyn Dowdy, Reagan Dowdy and Maisey Dowdy; and his siblings, Joyce Scofield (Gary) of Ogallala, Erle Dean Corfield (Sally) of Oshkosh, Jim Corfield (Linette) of Brady and Laurel Kennedy (Ken) of Ogallala. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home (602 N Spruce St, Ogallala, NE 69153). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Arthur County High School (111 Elm St, Arthur, NE 69121).
A memorial has been established in Jerry's memory for later designation.
