He was predeceased by: his parents, George S. Elwonger and Mayme A. Elwonger (Critchfield); his sister Esther Mary; his wife Patricia Clements; his son-in-law John Carns; and his stepson Glenn Clements.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Carns of Atlantic, Diane Junge (Dennis) of Overland Park and John Elwonger (Sharon) of Summerfield; his grandchildren, Ryan, Christen, Laura, Brian and Owen; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Avery, Madelyn, Harper and Emma; his stepchildren, Linda Catlett, Wesley Clements and Mark Clements; and his friend Lucille Weatherfield.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hemmingsen Funeral Home (801 S St, Auburn, NE 68305). A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice House of Kansas City, MO or Shriners Hospital for Children.
