She was predeceased by: her mother Lucille Emma Blinde (Schlange); and also Leo. She is survived by: her sister LuAnn; her brother-in-law Gary Bray of Johnson; her siblings' children, Tami, Tyler Hartley, Kelly and Lee Rasmussen; her brother Loren Blinde of Lincoln; and her siblings' children, Tom and Val Blinde. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Department of Kinesiology at Southern Illinois University to facilitate program and student development in a department that Elaine loved. Other memorials may be made to family choice.
