It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eric Benjamin (Auburn, Nebraska), born in Waverly, Iowa, who passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Sondra Sue Waddell; his parents, Joseph and Freda; and his siblings, Diane and Charles "Chuck".
He is survived by: his daughter Stacey Hayes (John); his grandson Aiden of Auburn; his sister Sharon Hann (Bruce) of Denver, CO; his cousin Robert "Bob" Hilburn (Melanie) of Huntsville, TX; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Erskine of Creston, IA and Gary Waddell (Suzanne) of Henderson, NV; his close friend Linda Kalina of Table Rock; and his nephew Abby. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hemmingsen Funeral Home (801 S St, Auburn, NE 68305). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
