He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence William John and Ellen Amelia Oestmann (Gerdes); his wife Rosalie Ann Ritchie; his former wife Linda S. Knox Remmers; his brother Kenny; his in-laws, A. B. and Ruth Ritchie; his brother-in-law Dennis Rohrs; and his son-in-law Bill Fitgerald.
He is survived by: his close friend Raedeahna Gerdes; his children, Anne Fitzgerald and Jim Oestmann (JaNay); his grandchildren, Trevor Fitzgerald, Abby Fitzgerald (James Schneider), Meleia Oestmann and Alexa Oestmann (Justin Cooper); his great grandchildren, Jack Fitzgerald and Bobby Fitzgerald; his sisters-in-law, Linda L. Oestmann and Margaret Rohrs; and his stepdaughter Lori Gerking. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous other extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 72796 634 Ave, Auburn, NE 68305.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Auburn Rescue Squad or Hickory Grove Lutheran Church.
