With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russell Gertsch (Aurora, Nebraska), born in Columbus, Nebraska, who passed away on September 11, 2019 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Gertsch and Maddie Gertsch (Pilling); and his siblings, Wayne, Alice Dietrich, Ellen Weller, Clyde, Lester, Jack and Marion.

He is survived by: his wife Norma; his children, Leon Gertsch of Houston, TX. and Lisa Gertsch of Houston, TX.; his grandchildren, Sean Gertsch of Sturgis, SD, Karsten Lutz, Merete Lutz, Seoul and Drew Gertsch; and his brother-in-law Marvin Bachman (Marilyn). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
