He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Messerer and Marguarite Messerer (Crawford); and his in-laws, Wayne and Lois Sharp. He is survived by : his wife Donna Marie Sharp of Axtell; and his daughters, Jenny Messerer of Hastings and Teri Mohrmann (Todd) of David City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's honor are kindly suggested to the First Presbyterian Church in Axtell or the Axtell Fire Department.
