It is with sadness that the passing of Janet M. Petersen of Bancroft, Nebraska is shared. Janet, born on February 21, 1939, passed away on October 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reno Rice and Gladys Rice (Williamson); her husband Howard Petersen of Bancroft, NE; and her siblings, Robert Rice (Dorothy) and Veda Hansen (Vern).
She is survived by: her children, Wade Petersen of Bancroft, NE and Shauna Bassett (Kerry) of Bancroft, NE; her grandchildren, Cassandra Bassett of West Point, NE and Benjamin Bassett of Fremont, NE; and her siblings-in-law, Norman Petersen of West Point, NE, Lily Petersen of West Point, NE and Luella Petersen of Bancroft, NE. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home (414 Main St, Bancroft, NE 68004).
