Jim Sears wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to Berna and the entire family. The obituary was a very nice tribute. Mike liked to talk, but it wasn't chit chat -- he had a way of getting any conversation to the essence of the topic. He was a man with questions, born of true curiosity and desire to learn. He also liked to teach and was quick to compliment. I appreciated that he was always interested in ways to improve in whatever he did. He was a good man and will be missed. Thanks for the friendship, Mike. Jim Sears.”
