It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David G. Smith (Beatrice, Nebraska), who passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack G. Smith and Betty I. Smith (Gary); his sister Sandra Grenier (Phil); his nephew Steven Bauman; his parents-in-law, Norbert R. and Arlene E. Kelle (Trauernicht); and his brother-in-law Orville Remmers.
He is survived by: his son Neil Anthony (DeAnn) of Pickrell; his wife Cheryl Ann Kelle; his son Ryan Smith of Pickrell; his grandchildren, Rylee, Libby Smith of Pickrell, Dawson and Gage Smith of Pickrell; his siblings-in-law, LaDonna DeBuhr (Darvin) of Beatrice, Sandra Daubendiek (Gerhardt) of Beatrice and Arlan Kelle (Mimi) of Beatrice; and his sibling's children, Mike Bauman (Pam), Robert Bauman (Jeanne), Dan Bauman (Joyce), Coleen Nieveen (Tom), Calvin Remmers, Miranda Meints (Curtis) and Spencer Kelle (Nicole).
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A prayer was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:15 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (701 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
