He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Scheiding and Evelyn Scheiding (Spilker). He is survived by: his wife Lyn Lomax; his brother Dennis of Beatrice; his nephew Brett Scheiding (Amanda); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Maya and Avery of Plymouth; his niece Ashley Picache; Phoenix of California.

A memorial has been established to Beatrice Sertoma Club and Centenary United Methodist Church with Don and Bev Ewer in charge.
