He was predeceased by: his parents, William Catlin and Mildred Catlin (Brown); his son Donald Jr.; his sisters, June Decker (Maurice) and Betty Bartlett Jensen; his parents-in-law, Alfred and Haeda Hasenohr (Harder); his siblings-in-law, Dale Bartlett, Mark Carmichael, Dean Hasenohr and Evelyn Waltke (Raymond); and his niece Shelley Dunn.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Hasenohr; his siblings, Jan Schinkus of Lincoln, Dennis Catlin (Gail) of Arkansas, Danny Catlin (Mary) of Beatrice and David Catlin (Lorraine) of Beatrice; and his sister-in-law Gloria Hasenohr of Beatrice. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
