We announce the death of Ellen Jurgena of Beatrice, Nebraska, born in Roca, Nebraska, who passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 84. Ellen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Diekman and Lucille Diekman (Rosecrans); her children, Ted Nickels and Peggy Nickels; her grandson Logan Weirs; her great grandchild Tristin Rzekonski; her brother Terry Diekman; her niece Erica Cullison; and her sister-in-law Billie Diekman.

She is survived by: her siblings, Judy Schwartz (Larrey), Linda Cullison (Ron), Betty Reiman (Wynn), Paul Diekman and Randy Diekman (Kathy); her grandchildren, Jeremy Weirs (Karla), Lathan, Dakotah Munstermann, Andrew Nickels (Diane) and Allana Merwin (Tanner); her stepchildren, Tori and Todd Jurgena (Bonnie); her great grandchildren, Logan, Marley, Nova and Owen Weirs; her stepchildren, Jayden, Brenan Nickels, Corey, Tyler Rzekonski, Madden and Kason Deane; her stepgranddaughter Cheyeane Harms; and her close friend Nancy Probst. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harman - Wright Mortuary (623 Elk St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Blue Springs Cemetery - Blue Springs (37219 N A St, Blue Springs, NE 68318).
