He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Priefert and Gladys Priefert (Carter); his parents-in-law, Homer and Beulah Collingham; and his brother-in-law Wayne Collingham.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey Priefert of Beatrice; his brothers, Marde Priefert (Jean) of Jansen and Bill Priefert of Omaha; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Collingham of Lincoln, Donna Collingham of Omaha and Mary Tupper (Merlin) of Glenwood, IA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Beatrice Humane Society and the Alzheimer's Association.
