He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Huls and Johanna Ackerman Huls; his wife Tena Huls (Johnson); his siblings, Viola Ackerman, Wilma Larimore, Donna Mae Wahlstrom, Emma Vliet, Darlene Cochran, LeRoy Huls, Dale Huls and John Huls; and his son-in-law Marvin Otto.
He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Otto of Pickrell, Diana Smith (Jim) of Beatrice and Marcia Vontz (Rick) of Beatrice; and his grandchildren, Eric Otto, Gina Otto (Wes), Jeremy Vontz, Nicholas Vontz, Ryan Smith, Barry Smith and Jami Mayfield (David). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
