He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Scott; his parents, Armin Vogt and Elsie Ruhnke Vogt; and his siblings, Vernon (Loretta Vogt) and Delores Vogt.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Vogt (Renee) and Randy Vogt (Sophia). He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Bright Focus Foundation for prevention of Macular Degeneration.
