With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Mayes (Beatrice, Nebraska), born in Marysville, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 20, 2025 at the age of 74. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Brandt and F. Arlene Brandt; and her sister Judith Birmingham. She is survived by: her husband Kevin Mayes; her children, Corey Acklin (Amy Acklin) and Jessica Kuczaj (Todd Kuczaj); her grandchildren, Madison Acklin, Samantha Kuczaj and Rachel Kuczaj; and her sister Nancy Brandt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Platypus Protected Feline Rescue Shelter.
