He is survived by: his wife Carol Vrtiska of Beatrice; his children, Rhonda Casey (Steve), Mark Vrtiska (Kerry) and Chris Vrtiska (Janie); his grandchildren, Matthew Pinkerton, Jenny Pinkerton and Alex Casey; his stepgrandchildren, Jerod Ideus (Cally), Jaclyn Machado (Rita), Cassie Boyer (Kurt), Katie Bates (Clint), Kristine Ray (Jared) and Staci Hattan; his sister Betty Bedea (Gary); and his sister-in-law Linda Essam. He is also survived by 17 step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family's choice.
