He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Hofeling and Sophia Hofeling (Remmers); his son Stanley; his sister Marie Bartels; and his parents-in-law, Andrew and Sarah Petersen (Fetty).
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Hofeling; his son Gary (Gayle Hofeling); his grandchildren, Jake, Derek and Sophia; his goddaughter LeeAnn (Doug Jones); his siblings, Herman (Christina Hofeling) and Lydia Lindquist; his friends, Burly, Genell Copas, Larry, Bev Weishan, Richard and Lynn Pomajzl; Jamie Jones, Dwight, Lisa Jones, Nolan and Brookelynn. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice.
