He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Gentrup (Spenner); and his siblings, Russell Gentrup, Cecilia Johnson (Dennis), Catherine Ulrich (Vincent), William Gentrup, Ignatius Gentrup (Rosie) and Leo Gentrup.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Gentrup of Beemer, NE and Joyce (Jeff Wangen); his grandchildren, Kaden, Nate and Xavier; his great grandchild Gerald; his grandchildren, Fran Gentrup of Wisner, NE, Justin and Casey Bellar; his great grandchildren, Blaine and Stockton Danielle Bellar; his children, Sevyn and Leo; his granddaughter Janet; his son Tim Diedrichsen of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren, Tyler and Sara; his great grandchild Roger; his grandchildren, Nicole Gentrup of Gretna, NE, Derek and Sarah Gentrup; his daughter Nora; his siblings, Ted, Doris Gentrup of West Point, NE, Clarice Gentrup of Colorado Springs, CO, Lee Gentrup of Denver, CO and Millie Gentrup of Stevensville, MT; and his sister-in-law Geraldine Gentrup (Fred).
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (517 Frasier St, Beemer, NE 68716). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
