It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kay Frances Horton of Bellevue, Nebraska, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred VanValkenburg and Vivian VanValkenburg; her siblings, Fred, Janet and Sharon; and her nephew Fred "Fast Fred".
She is survived by: her significant other Carl; her children, Melissa Heredia (Julio) and Edwin "Nate" Horton (Merri); her grandchildren, Ramon (Natasha), Lourdes, Emanuel (Michelle), Sarai (Zachary), Juliana (Tyler), Addison, Anthony, Alexander, Briza and Zachary; her nieces and nephews, Barbara, Tammy, Loretta, Thomas, Gary, Sheila, Jesse, William, Tracy, Angela "Angie", Jerri (Andre) and Jada; her former husband Daniel Horton; and her pets, Chico, Volk, Baby, Theo, Johnny, Chef, Benji, Salem, Whiskers, Meow Meow and Nova.
