He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Mayree Bowen; and his parents, Perry Bowen and Maxine Bowen. He is survived by: his sons, Paul Bowen (Kat), Nicholas Bowen, A. J. Bowen (Ashley) and Aaron Bowen (Anneric); his grandchildren, Carter and Sawyer; and his brother Ed Bowen (Shelley).
