She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Shavlik and Ludmilla Blatny; her husband George Vanis; her sons, Larry and Bernie; her brother Stan; her grandson Josh; and her son-in-law Lenny.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sue, Betty (Gary) and Patty (Todd); her daughters-in-law, Melvene and Nancy; her grandchildren, Jenni Vanis, Jason Vanis (Katie), Craig Vanis (Kristen), Jessica Brau (Jeff), Jason Vidlak (Erin), Jill Hill (Brian), Mary Jo Bean (Josh), Vanessa Engel (James), Alexandra Gill, Sam Gill (Taylor), Heidi McMillan (Mike), Erica Gibson and Chad Fleck (Shauna); and her brother Milo Shavlik. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Presentation Parish (1291 41 Rd, Bellwood, NE 68624). A rosary was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM at the St. Mary's & St. Peter Cemetery (1141 41 Rd, Bellwood, NE 68624).
