With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Janssen of Bennet, Nebraska, born in Pasadena, Texas, who passed away on November 21, 2023 at the age of 73. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of William Janssen to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Carl Janssen and Marjory "Peach" Janssen (Goyne); his daughter Heather; and his brother Roger Janssen. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Janssen (Cress) of Bennett; his children, Monica Janssen of Lincoln, Rebecca Sorensen (Tavis) of Boise, ID and James Janssen (Heather); his grandsons, Dane, Reilly and Porter of Lincoln; the mother of his children Judy Thompson (Pletan) of Lincoln; his brothers, Carl Janssen, Jr. of Monument, CO and Eric Janssen of Denton, TX; and his stepsons, Derek Higgins (Jessica) of Aurora, CO and Casey Higgins of Lincoln. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Nebraska Greats Foundation, Capital Humane Society, or The Gathering Place.

“I just found out Bill passed away. I only met him a few times, but shared his love of hunting ducks. Several years ago Bill made arrangements to bring Neil Andersen with him to our blind, which made a memory my young son, who loved ducks and wildlife art, will never forget. Although i didn’t get to spend too much time with him, I considered Bill a friend. Please accept my condolences for your loss. Mike Willet, Wymore, NE”
