She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Wilken and Lucille Wilken (Hemje); her spouse Terry Nelsen; her brother Mike Wilken; and her siblings-in-law, Mel Deselms and Bev Wilken.
She is survived by: her sons, Chris Nelsen (Julie) of Kearney and Cory Nelsen of Bismarck; her grandson Morgan Thyne; her siblings, Jim Wilken (Dorothy) of Edenburg, Texas, Dennis Wilken of Norton, Kansas and Diane Deselms of Cambridge, Nebraska; and her siblings-in-law, Roslyn Wilken of Enid, Oklahoma, Sharon Stahlecker (Randy) of Alma, Nebraska, Wayne Nelsen (Bev) of Omaha, Nebraska and Gary Nelsen (Deb) of Marysville, Kansas. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Cheryl's honor and kindly suggested to Hope Lutheran Church of rural Smithfield, the Bertrand Community School Foundation, and the Bertrand Volunteer Rescue Unit.
