He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn L. Johnston and Kathleen M. Johnston (Kerr); his sons, Kent and Neil; his close friend Gloria K. McCabe; and his siblings, Gary and Beverly.
He is survived by: his children, Ashley Stoneking (Lucas) of Julesburg, Tyler Johnston (Kynthia) of Wichita and Denise Ferrel Johnston of Washington, Iowa; his daughter-in-law Jill Johnston of Des Moines, IA; his grandchildren, Taylor Swinscoe (Haley), Elijah Carey (Kennedy), Erin Harlan, Dallas Johnston, Sofia Stoneking, Camille Stoneking, Luke Johnston, Cora Johnston and Owen Johnston; and his sister-in-law Loretta Johnston. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
