He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Clyde and Barbara Hood (Nelson); his wife Peggy; his siblings, William Hood, Ruth Meyers and Helen Mak; his son Dwight D. Hood; and his grandchildren, Dwight D. Hood II and Amanda Hood.
He is survived by: his brothers, Wayne F. Hood (Joyce) and Robert I. Hood (Vicki); his children, Richard L. Hood, Hugh E. Hood, Daniel E. Hood of Alabama and Starlette Connelly; his son-in-law Don Connelly of Big Springs; his granddaughters, Sarah Baker of Tennessee and Shannon Hood of Alabama; and his great grandchildren, Marcina Baker, Allison Sherman and Shandi Bryant. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Assembly of God Church (200 W Cedar St, Big Springs, NE 69122).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Big Springs American Legion in Harold's memory.
