Max Soper Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 28, 2026, at the age of 91, Max Soper of Big Springs, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Pearl and Margaret Alice Soper; his former wife Phyllis Elaine Hendrix Soper; his wife Sharon K. Soper (Marquardt); his son Michael; and his grandson Michael Julius Soper, II.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Rochlitz, Big Springs, Melodie Woodworth (Ken), Michelle Armstrong and Mona Garcia (Christopher); his daughter-in-law Judy Soper; his siblings, Pat Stevens (Bob) of Aurora and Marlene Bellamy (Rod) of Spring; and his sisters-in-law, Patti Soper of Ogallala and Lorraine Soper of Singapore. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Big Springs United Methodist Church and the Big Springs Fire Department.
