He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Petersen and Katie Petersen; his wife Donna Lee Petersen; his son Dwight Petersen; and his siblings, Harland Petersen, Lois Petersen, Elaine Plummer, Betty Larson and Ruth Vaca.
He is survived by: his daughter Jacque Anderson (Scott); his daughter-in-law Bonnie Petersen; his grandchildren, Todd Petersen (Jennifer), Garrett Petersen (Kayla), Greg Petersen, Jenna Lee Anderson and Taylor Anderson (Jillian); his great grandchildren, HaiLee (Kyle), Daphne, Aida, Grant, Wesley and Amelia; and his sister Mary Alice Frahm. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (1656 Colfax St, Blair, NE 68008). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
